Today is the last day of school. Enjoy a restful summer vacation! See 7th graders back on the first day of school in the fall Tuesday, September 6th.

8th Grade Moving On Ceremonies are today, Thursday, June 23rd. They begin at 9am with Team ceremonies, then at 10:30am the whole 8th grade gathers and afterward from 11:30am until dismissal at 11:55am students and families are invited for a pot luck social celebration. Please bring along a finger food to help celebrate. Families are welcome to all or any part of the morning.

Look for the ARMS June newsletter on the ARMS website under the News heading and scroll down to the Monthly Newsletter, then click on June. http://arms.arps.org

Project Backpack 2011 is now underway. Help students start the school year with a new backpack filled with supplies. MS and HS students need: new/unused backpacks, assignment books, 3-ring binders, calculators (basic or graphing), English dictionary (word or picture), erasers, folders, graph paper, highlighters, index cards (3 x 5), combination locks, loose leaf paper, markers, notebooks, pencils (#2), pencil sharpeners, pens, rulers...

Drop off at the Office of the Superintendent 170 Chestnut St Amherst. Please contact Kimberly Stender, at stenderk@arps.org or 362-1825 with inquiries or if you would like to volunteer with assembly and distribution.

Thanks to all the teachers and staff members who work so hard to support, encourage and teach our kids. Middle school can be a challenging age and many wonderful people work together to make ARMS a great place to learn. Congratulations on a job well done to Mike Hayes and Betsy Dinger who lead a fine team of dedicated, hard working people.

A huge thank you to everyone who lent a hand this year. The school is enriched by all the families who are involved. Your participation makes a difference.

This will be the last FSP news unless someone steps forward to continue it for next year. There are volunteers to coordinate some activities, but there is not a leader for the Family School Partnership for next year. For those of you like me, who appreciate the communication, I hope that it continues. Have a great summer! Cathy Cullen
